THE NEED FOR CAPACITY BUILDING Institution Building is perhaps the least-understood aspect of building large scale solutions to impact more lives. While technical excellence is crucial, scaling up requires investments in people, processes and systems that stretch far beyond programs themselves. Social sector organizations face several challenges as they aim to create impact at scale. These include, but are not limited to, funding and structural support for leadership development, building top quality executive teams and building the capacity of senior leadership. In addition to this, securing access to the right networks, cross-sector collaboration, continuous program and process improvements, and superior communication skills have been highlighted by leaders as focus areas for development. DASRA SOCIAL IMPACT PROGRAMS Over the years, Dasra has built its expertise to support organizations on these operational and functional areas, recognizing that organizations are true experts of program implementation. As part of the Capacity Building pillar, Dasra offers learning opportunities to support leaders and decision makers of non-profit organizations through the Dasra Social Impact (DSI) Programs. These programs are designed to create accelerated learning experiences that transform high potential social sector leaders into powerful Changemakers. Curated through extensive interviews and feedback from social sector leaders, and Dasra’s own experience of close to two decades, these programs offer an experiential learning to leaders and development sector practitioners. These programs also serve as a platform for leaders to share their personal journey and foster a community of practice.
